This July 9, 2013:
« The terrorist group called “Free Syrian Army » claimed through
one of its leaders Bassam al-Dadah, the car bomb attack that targeted the Center of the Islamic Cooperation in the suburbs of Beirut, according to the television channel al-Mayadine. »
# Fifty people were injured by the explosion of a car bomb Tuesday morning in a parking lot of a Shiite southern suburbs of Beirut. « The most serious incident in the Hezbollah stronghold since its involvement in the Syrian conflict, » according to LE TEMPS. According to a final report, the attack resulted in 53 wounded, said the Lebanese Health Minister Ali Hassan Khalil. « Only 12 are still hospitalized. All have had an operation, » he said. Reuters initially evoked several deaths but the information has not been confirmed. Russian and Romanian media evoke tonight « seven dead. »
On the other hand, a stranger threw a grenade around the Sabra Palestinian refugee camp near Beirut, supporter of Damascus, wounding three people, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.
BLOODY ATTACK WHICH AIMS HEZBOLLAH
« Around 11:00 (8:00 GMT, Tuesday morning), a car bomb exploded in a parking lot near a commercial cooperative called the Islamic Cooperation Centre in Bir al-Abed, » a stronghold of the Shiite movement Hezbollah, said a military source.
« This explosion in its stronghold is the most serious challenge to Hezbollah since it is directly involved in the Syrian conflict with the forces of the (Syrian) regime, » says Reuters. Previously, two rockets had injured four people on the 26th but in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
TO AN IMPORTATION OF THE SYRIAN CONFLICT TO LEBANON?
Lebanese President Michel Sleiman and two former Sunni prime ministers Najib Maikati and Saad Hariri condemned the attack. While the Interior Minister Marwan Charbel visited the scene, furious people wanted to approach him to insult him and threw stones at him.
« This attack comes at a time of extreme tension between communities, » says Reuters. In Tripoli (North Lebanon), gunmen fired in the air in the Sunni neighborhood of Bab al-Tabbaneh to « celebrate » the attack of Bir al-Abed and the army was deployed to restore calm.
The conflict in Syria deeply divides the Lebanese people between supporters and opponents of President Bashar al-Assad, exacerbating sectarian tensions. Most Lebanese Shiites, led by Hezbollah, favor Bashar al-Assad, an ally of the Iranian protector. As well as many Lebanese minorities who enjoy the secular and pluralistic system and the freedom of thought and religion of Ba’athist Syria.
THE WESTERN AND ZIONIST THESIS OF « WAR OF CIVILIZATION » INOPERATIVE
While in the Shiite neighborhood, the charges were immediately directed against the Jewish state, the Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said that his country was not involved in the attack which results, he said, from the » struggle between Shiites and Sunnis. »
Classical explanation of NATO media and their Zionist followers to press on the Western aggression the scheme of the « war of civilizations », dear to U.S. Neocons and Zionist Likudniks. But that is irrelevant beyond Western propaganda. Ba’athist Syria is a secular state and the Syrian Arab Army is mainly composed of Sunnis.
The Grand Mufti of the Syrian Arab Republic, the Sunni Badreddine Ahmad Hassoun, at our meeting in Beirut on June 13, insisted he was « the Mufti of all Syrians, » « including non-believers »
DISCOMFORT AND PRETENCES IN THE WESTERNERS AND THEIR MERCENARIES
OF THE FSA
The puppet « Coalition of the Syrian opposition », stipendiary by Westerners and fundamentalists of Doha and Riyadh, violently hostile to Hezbollah, condemned the attack. « Targeting civilians is a crime that is opposed to the ideals and principles of the revolution » (sic), it said in a statement.
France – which arms the pseudo-FSA and whose special forces train its jihadist katibas in Syria itself – also « condemned in the strongest terms the attack, » reiterating « its commitment to Lebanon’s stability and its rejection of terrorism « (sic), according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The claim on TV al-Mayadine obviously caused discomfort among the attackers of Syria. Noticeable discomfort to the fact that NATO media have been very discreet then on this bloody attack. Bassam al-Dada, one of the commanders of the FSA, also confirmed to the Lebanese al-Nashra information website that « a FSA brigade committed the attack in the southern suburbs of Beirut. »
HOW TO EXPLAIN THIS TERRORIST DRIFT OF THE FSA IN LEBANON?
How to explain this terrorist drift in Lebanon, one more of the FSA?
The FSA militarily lost the game. Qusseir was a major strategic defeat. Homs is almost totally liberated and its periphery secured, creating as in Qusseir a trap where are trapped the jihadists. In Aleppo – where the FSA still controls 2 districts- is preparing the last great battle. The Turkish Islamist ally has its own worries. And on the northern border, al-Nosra gangs confront Kurdish militias of the PYD (Syrian PKK), tired of their abuses.
In the absence of a Western intervention – that Moscow and Beijing have clearly forbidden to NATO, establishing their own « red line » – the military card is lost.
Worse, the FSA has lost its Qatari support. And the U.S. Congress has blocked imports of heavy weapons that the Obama administration intended to organize broadly. According to Reuters, citing officials from the U.S. National Security Agency, the NSA, » the Congress has just suspended its decision on accelerating the delivery of weapons to the Syrian rebels. » Reuters adds that « this decision echoes the fears of many U.S. officials see the American “lethal « weapons fall into the hands of extremists. » These are the » intelligence Committees composed of representatives and security officials who would have examined behind closed doors the project of reinforcing the delivery of arms to the rebels and have pleaded for its suspension. »
So here for the FSA Jihadists the time of desperadoes and headlong rush. Which will also be the one of personal vendettas. And this applies even more to the Islamists of the al-Nosra Front (al-Qaeda in Syria), integrated with the FSA katibas of which it constitutes at least 70% of the forces. The Islamists feel abandoned and betrayed by their Western allies.
The attack of Beirut and its claim by a faction of the FSA is probably the first event of the lost soldiers of the so-called FSA…
